THE BIG REVEAL: THE BLUSHED MAGAZINE COVER IS FINALLY COMPLETE
Hello there my lovely fellow creators! I am so excited to announce that I have finally completed my latest project with my most recent client: beauty blogger and make-up artist Kelly Nicole. I was beyond excited when she asked me to be the cover designer, as well as be a part of this exciting new journey of hers. Blushed magazine is a quarterly digital publication dedicated to educating women on the latest beauty, hair, and style trends. Here's the kicker- its totally free! As I mentioned in my previous post, her first issue is all about everything bridal, and she wanted me to create a beautiful drawing to encapsulate the magic behind the beauty of all things bridal.
I was instantly inspired by the thought of a majestic bohemian bride both beautiful and chic, but in a playful simplistic kind of way. I sketched the girl on the cover with a sheer lace long sleeve gown, with a flower piece in her hair, which to me adds a bit of fun and innocence to the look. As I delved into the rest of the cover, I adapted the bohemian idea to a magic garden filled with paper flowers. Using Adobe Photoshop, I created these abstract-looking flowers and layered them in a way to look as though they were delicate paper flowers delicately placed and overlaying one another. Well enough, talking time to reveal! Also I reposted the original corresponding Sketch With Me Episode #2 below just in case you missed it, or if you want to see how I brought this sketch to life again!
Well, there you have it ladies and gents! One satisfied client down, a gahzillion more to go! No, but seriously I absolutely love what I do! Come to think of it, this project reminded me of the fact that whatever you choose to do with your life in terms of career choices, is like a marriage within itself. I have been married to Fashion Design and consulting for quite sometime, and although I didn't get the dress, ceremony, and yummy cake to celebrate this cerebral union, I am quite happy to say the love is going strong! I must admit however, I had my moments where I questioned this path along my journey. It took months of soul searching, reflecting, and the manifestation of my inner creative genius to motivate me to stay on course. Speaking of creative genius, as I mentioned a week ago, I will be publishing a class on Skillshare very soon titled: Fashion Design with Soul: Create a Fashion Collection inspired by Your Creative Muse. I wrote about this specifically in this post, so go check it out! I sincerely hope you will join me in creating this soul-centric Fashion collection! Please comment and let me know if you are down, and don't forget to subscribe for updates today!
